W is for

W is for

Winter (played out side in the cold and looked for signs of winter) - talked about the Weather- read books about weather
White - snow talked about things that are white, painted with white on dark paper read books with a white or winter theme to them
washed! water - played in the sink with water and WASHED  his brushes, with WARM water.

Whales - read books
Water mellon - did activity pages from confessions of a homeschooler blog- they were free when I got them a few years ago but I think she charges for her kit now. We were going to eat water mellon to but it was not in season :(
 he was trying so hard to paint a snow flake and did it to his satisfaction and was super happy about it.

D is for ….

Some of the activities we did when learning about the letter D! 
D is for Dentist! we not only read about it but went to the dentist that week for a check up. I would like to say I am super organized and planned it that way, but it was actually just an accident. 
I love it when accidents like this happen :) all boys were cavity FREE YES! 
D is for Dinosaur! we read books and then did a math game pretending to be dinos and eating the nuts as we did the number game.
D is for DIG! a few days a head I froze a dino in a plastic container with ice and water so it froze then gave him water bottles with HOT water and a butter knife to dig and chip away at this. He LOVED IT!
sooooo proud of himself when he got it out.
D is for Dallin, December and Daniel- we read about Daniel in the Lions den and did some activity pages from the blog confections of a slacker mom (or homeschooler I can't remember) about Daniel and the Lions den.

D is for Dice and we also did some dice games I found on pinterest.

T is for …

T is for Tiger! read some books, and zoo books about Tigers, played an animal match game that has a tiger, if you got that mach it was a BONOUS! ha ha 
T is for tools! Memeory game - lay out the tools, name them, then cover them. Have him try to remember all the tools under the blanket.
T is for Turtle- read some books, zoo books and did some turtle activity pages we had on hand.
T is for Taco- we love this book! Also his pet dog is named Taco - family story behind that.

T is for Train. played with this Train game - it is for adults but they just played with it for fun
did and an alphabet train puzzle I LOVE this puzzle - got it at a thrift store, perfect condition have used it with all the boys. Also read books about Trains, and Trucks!
Some other things we did T is for Thanks- and there for Thanksgiving, and T is for Turkey
and of course T is for Toronto (the family not the place)

P is for …

P is for Pizza! we read the book "Secret Pizza Party" and then had Tortilla Pizza for Lunch, with Pears. 
We did a lot of other things too,  but I did not take pictures of them.

P is for Pumpkin, and we read pumpkin books and then we made pumpkin muffins, and played hide the pumpkin. We have one of those little decrotaive pumpkins and we would take turns hiding it then he would try to find it, we would sing fun songs, and we would sing quiet if he was far, and sing louder as he got closer. Fun game to play, teaches listening and fallowing directions skills.

P is for Pirates, we read books then talked like a pirate the whole day. Did some fun Preschool Pirate activitiy sheets I got of a blog a while ago.

P is for Pig read if you give a Pig a pancake and made pancakes for breakfast (to eat the next day) Did a simple Pig craft.

P is for Prophet- read a story from Thomas S Monson our current Prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. - there are also some preschool activities he did that I got from the blog called confessions of a slacker mom (or homeschool mom?) I can't remember.

R is for …

R is for Ryan - and Red he went on a red hunt! and we read Lama Lama red Pajamas I actually hate this book but they love it I do not know why. We also read the Little Red Hen and made bread.
R is for Rockets! we made lots of different rocket designs out of these shapes we have.
and looked for rockets in our Look a book! (super fun eye spy type book)
did a rocket craft from glueing shapes
did this rocket craft, two cups one with two rubber bands across it, then stack them it makes the top one shoot up. Found this idea on pinterest and also family fun.
R is for Robots, read books acted like robots
R is for rainbow, watched signing time rainbow song, make a rainbow from all the color cars we have and did some activity R is for rainbow sheets.

A is for …

A is for … Alphabet. played with these blocks, and sang the alphabet song and watched the ABC signing time movie. 
A is for Airplane, he designed it. I helped to build it. Also read airplane books and sung a song

A is for Alligator. We made this out of a clothes pin, then sane the 5 monkeys in the Tree song, and he eat the monkeys with the alligator. We read the book there is an Alligator under my bed.

I used this with the other boys too, it is an Alligator mouth greater or lesser sign, then I write two numbers and he eats the greater one.
A is for apples! we read books about apples, and had apple cider, and made apple prints.
A is alsof of Aaron and we looked at pictures of Aaron and they played together.

A is for Ants- read the books, sand ants go marching song, and did an Ants restaurant activity.
we got a plate, put out fruit, ham, honey different things and sat it out side to watch the ants come, but unfortunately it just kept ranging and raining for days so this did not work out so well. I will try again in the spring.

C is for …

C is for Creation - we talked about how the lord created the world. C is for Catiplar, read the very hungery caterpillar, and did this activity with it. I got it from Confessions of a homeschooler blog a few years ago. 
C is for Colors, read books and did a color animal bingo activity and song I had on hand from when the other boys were little.
C is for Counting, and Cars he gathered 20 cars and I wrote 1-20 on sticky dots and he counted and labeled them with that number.
then he had to make a race Course! for the Cars!

C is for Clouds we read a sequencing story book I had on hand about clouds and some other books on clouds and make cloud dough. See pinterest for recipe.
C is for Cookie, we read If you give a mouse a cookie. Then (I gathered these things a head of time)
As we read the story (since we own this books and have read it MANY times) as i read it I pulled out something to go along with that part of the book. Then I covered it up, and had him tell me the story back, and pulled the items back out as he remembered them it was fun, he got all of them but one!

Make play dough cookies and read the book Mmmmm Cookies by Robert Munch- really funny.
THEN we had to make REAL cookies!

G is for …

Here are some things we did for Letter G!
G is for GO read this cute book. 
played stop and GO! I can't remember what blog I got these from, made them a long time ago I use them all the time

G is for Germany! we learned about Germany in our family lessons this week.
 G is for GREEN! he went on a hunt through the house to find GREEN things!

G is for Girraffe did this hand Giraffe craft, and read books about Giraffes. I love how he sticked out his tongue when concentrating!
